Hi Everyone,

Glad to join this elite group. I have been reading a lot from this forum and been anxious to update my iphone's firmware to a later version.

I would like to update from my current version of 1.0.1 to 1.1.1 and since I do not have any access to internet on my iphone (either through wifi or edge), I am unsure on how to continue. I only have internet in my desktop computer along with ibrickr.

Also I do not know which method was used to unlock my iphone but i suspect anysim as IPSF, they say will only work with one sim. Mine works with all sim cards.

Kindly help if it is possilbe to do this. Also if the firmware can be updated to 1.1.2 with the functionality of 3rd party apps intact. Any help will be wonderful.

ok, first of all i recommend you to have a wifi, thats the way that the iphone connects to the internet to download all the stuff it needs, if you dont have it, it would be pretty difficult to achieve an unlock, go with some friend i dont know.

then you need to jailbreak and unlock
i used this guide, and i preffer this one because the one on jailbreakme.com sometimes fails, and this one gives you full fuctionality with youtube, international support and other stuff and its pretty easy

and if you dont have wifi it will be almost impossible, i dont know, maybe someone else knows another way around...

Checked out on the links and they appear to be the best I've seen so far.

Here in India, getting to any hot spot is hard to come by. Looks like I will have to buy a wifi router to get this done. Anyway I had always wanted to get myself a wifi network in my home.

Yes, create a symbolic link to / before you Update to 1.1.1...

Googled to get info on symbolic link and it looks like its beyond me for the time being.

It looks like it is used to remove the total app limit.

Both "remove the total app limit" and "jailbreak 1.1.1" had used symbolic link trick.
