Default Why doesnt my ringtone work ? anyone can help ??

I see people mentioning about some ways on how to upload ringtone onto your iphone

and they said that you can use the sendsong app, made by Erica Sadun to upload ringtones by just selecting it and click the send to ringtone.

you'll find the particular song in your ringtone directory which is
    settings>sounds>ringtone

then i selected it and switched to general mode,
but why doesnt it rings the song i've chosen ?

is there something wrong with it ?

Same on my iPhone with 1.1.2. With 1.1.1 it worked ! So I find out that if you add a custom ringtone with sendsong, you can't hear this ringtone if you receive a call. After adding the same ringtone with sendsong to your ringtone library (you have now 2 times the same song) you hear the default ringtone marimba !!!!
Dont know what exactly could be the problem.... Maybe Erica has a answer for us ???

    Find something on Erica's Page:

SendSong allows you to browse your iPhone and iPod touch music libraries, select a song and send it by email. On the iPhone, it also allows you to add songs to your ringtones. SendSong is updated and now mostly works with iPhone 1.1.1 (version 0.15 and above).

Here are the caveats: First, you can only send m4a files to ringtones. Any other file type and SendSong will complain. Second, sometimes it takes time for the Ringtones to get recognized. I've tried reboots and sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't. I've also quit SendSong, checked out my tones--found they didn't work--went back into SendSong, added another tone, returned and suddenly the tones did work. It's kinda freaky and I'm not sure why this happens. I suspect it's about forcing the system to reload all the info from the Ringtones.plist in /var/root/Media/iTunes_Control/iTunes.

Anyway, here it is. Caveat emptor. Don't sell this. Feedback appreciated.

Erica reported that with the new iTunes (7.5, I think) and iPhone software 1.1.2, the ringtones feature is no longer locked by Apple.
