    Default What is the maximum amount of applications I can install on my iphone?

    Hi, I tried searching for this on the forum but I couldnt find a clear answer. Somewhere I read the the installer crashes when having more than 72 apps installed on your iphone. I have 70 and when I tried to install any other it just crashes and sends me back to the main page (springboard) I tried several apps and the same happens, then if I delete an app I can install another one ans so on.

    So I wanted to know if there is a limited number of applications that can be installed and if this max number can be changed somewhere.

    Thanks in advance and greetings from Mexico

    OTB 1.1.1 --> Jailbreakme.com --> Unlocked 1.1.1
    --> Unlocked 1.1.2 --> Unlocked 1.1.3
    video recording, camera zoom, MMS

    It seemed like a good idea at the time...

    Try this "Categories" to organize your apps.

    yes I have it installed since the day it appeared in installer. However I can not have more tha 70 apps installe even if they are hidden and do not appear in the springboard. Most of the games and utilities are inside a categories folder but they still count as part of the 70 apps installed. In order to install a new one I have to delete one.

    any other suggestion??

    You may be out of drive space in your OS partition. To check this, run MobileTerminal and type: df -h
    The first one you see is the one you have to worry about. If you see its full, you will need to move apps to media partition. The two approaches to this are well documented on other parts of this site.

    I am fairly certain that once you reach the 70+ mark springboard starts to go a little nuts. If you are going to stay with that many apps and keep adding I suggest that you keep your SSH running for when springboard crashes on boot you have a way to back track.

    Sounds odd but has been reported. Some it's happened to with 72 apps, some with 78. Some have reported that they have 100+ without a problem. Most issues are on 1.1.1 and are also occurring with the applications folder moved.
