    Default Is Summerboard safe yet?

My personal experience, and that of many other people on this board, tells me that in the past if your phone was freezing up, or being sluggish in general, Summerboard may have been the problem. My phone was imperfect for a long time even after I deleted it, so I'm very hesistant to trust it again.

Then, just the other day, I upgraded to 1.1.1, and all is good again. The freezing stopped, and it has been perfect so far, sans-summerboard.

My question is does the newest version (3.something) of Summerboard have the same issues? Am I still risking my iphone's stability if I install it again?

I want the features, but it's not worth the cost of my phone freezing up, even if it only happens once a day. Once a day is too much!

I installed Summerboard last night when I updated from 1.0.2 to 1.1.1. So far, it works just fine.

I personally don't use and can't recommend Summerboard, because on both 1.02 and 1.1.1 it decreased the overall performance of my iPhone.
Personally, I really like the original look of the iPhone, anyway - the only thing I personalize is the icon order.

The only reason I would want it is to allow me to have more icons on my springboard. It seems like it is still not an easy program to run though..

You're only allowed 16 icons on 1.1.1+... If you want to install more on the Dock, use the XLoader from Erica S...

I'm running SummerBoard on 1.1.2, I ran it on 1.1.1 and I ran it on 1.0.2 and it worked fine without any real noticable slowing...

I have had my own SummerBoard problems, and found that Trip1Pogostick works just as good. You don't get themes or any of the number of options, but you get scrolling and there is less of a slowdown, plus I haven't had it crash on me. If you have recently done a jailbreak using AppSnapp, it automatically installs Pogostick.

As far as I know, Trip1 does not run all the time, but rather changes a setting to allow the springboard to scroll. As such, it should not really cause any problems.
Summerboard in this case would no longer handle scrolling. It is just using the built-in springboard feature. It has caused some nastiness on my phone though, so now its gone.

I also use Pogostick, it's a lot better than Summerboard. I prefer a clean and complete gui look, anyway.
