Just remember, if you have symlink in /var/root/Library/SMS, the application will "think" you are still on 1.1.2, therefore you should remove it prior to running it.

    Hi Guys

i have now searched everything but can't get SMSD to write into my sms.db

i think it's the symlink problem but i am not able to fix that ... i tried with WinSCP and ran # In -s /var/mobile/Library/SMS /var/root/Library/SMS

but neither with WinSCP nor with Terminal VT100 does it work

So please can anyone of the real pros please tell me how to symlink which sms.db file the one in the mobile directory or the one in the root directory.

I am on 1.1.3 Nate JB and i want my SMSD to run properly

So if anybody could help i'd really appreciate it!

    Thanks

    Devas

None. You shouldn't symlink the db.
Either install the new version on googlepages (which is beta), or do not use SMSD until it shows up on installer.

Ok now i installed the v 0.2.3 beta

i managed to delete a message i received ... but the message i sent didn't show up after i restartet SMSD

is this supposed to happen? Or should it work now? And if that wasn't supposed to happen is there a way that SMSD can not only delete SMS from db but also save sent messages to sms.db?

If you could light up my dark way again please ... that would be great

    Thanks

You probably created symlink in your post above.
That symlink should be removed for SMSD to properly recognize 1.1.3

    You should only have /var/mobile/Library/SMS
    but not
    /var/root/Library/SMS

But if you don't know what you are doing, stop here. You may remove your database.

    Ok thanks for the answer!

i have a backup of my sms.db if you re talking about that ... so for me there is no "easy way" to manage SMSD writing into my sms.db ... i tried to delete the /var/root/Library/SMS folder but it apeared again next time i opend the SMS app

do you think the installer Version of SMSD will fix those problems? I hope so cause this is really the ONLY SMS app that i want to use ... the original is too week!

    Thanks again
