Have anyone else had problem that the vibrator doesn't for calls when using a converted ringtone?
Also, why is it called "global ringtones"?

You maybe have a problem with permissions or space in system partition (i don't speak about media partition! :p) . Do you have read FAQ on my site?
Where is the FAQ that you're referring to?

I deleted a lot of applications and themes from my installer. but it still shows only 6mb diskspace left on /. is there any hidden trash folder that I need to clear it from? and I don't really get it about the bosstools and transferring of the ringtones. can someone be so kind as to point me in the right direction? been reading this thread but just dun quite understand.

Getting ringtones on 2.0 iisn't to bad actually if you don't mind doing it manually.... This works on either WIN or MAC

Use whatever mp3 editor you have to edit the song down to 30seconds or less, once that is complete add the mp3 to the itunes library then right-click on the song and select "Convert Selection to AAC", once its converted you will see it in the iTunes Library twice and it will start playing the song. The AAC file is going to be the second copy of the song right-click on it and on a mac click "Show in Finder" or windows I will check later but its something like go to location of the file. Once you are at the folder with the song it will either have a .AAC or .m4a dependng on what is was previiously (wav or mp3) extension and just rename the extension to .m4r (ie: ringtone.AAC to ringtone.m4r). SSH into the phone via Fugu, or cyberduck for MAC or winscp for win and upload the ringtone to /Library/Ringtones and you should be all set. Hopefully that wasn't to confusing

Of course Ringtones or something like sendsong will eventually automate this but for now it works.

just wanted to add something to the above post.

the great thing about this custom ringtones with itunes is that you dont even need an MP3 editor. follow these steps (for 2.0 at least)

    1. open itunes and find the song you want
    2. go into the song properties, and edit the start/end time of the song to be what you want, 30 seconds or less
    3. right click the song and convert it.
    4. find the song in the itunes music folder, it should be only the 30 second snippet.
    4. change file name from .m4a to .m4r and sync it to ur phone. done.

its great to create custom ringtones all with 1 program.

Oh I know how to get them on the iPhone, I just use iToner in conjunction with either soundtrack pro or audacity.

The thing is that sometimes (most of the time) I'm not at home and I want to create a new alarm or a new ringer.
