Discuss [Req] Mail attachment download at the Free Toolchain Software (Cydia App's) - Hackint0sh.org; I've searched but to no avail... Isn't anyone interested in the possibility of saving (downloading) ...

    Default [Req] Mail attachment download

    I've searched but to no avail...
    Isn't anyone interested in the possibility of saving (downloading) mail attachments to the iPhone?!
    Is there a way to lets say save photos / music or for that matter any attachments that you received via mail???
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I guess Safari Download Plugin does it..
    Try it out. Its on the iClarified Source.

    No no no it is a totally different thing... One is Safari Download plugin! n the other is specifically designed to work with mail which comes built in. The built in plug-in can only download text, images, video and audio; it is well hidden inside some frameworks folder. I doubt mail.app could be able to download attachments by replacin its plug-in with safari's. Mnplight could download image attachments as far as i no. Wut u guys should try is install the safari plugin get the latest info.plist file in n just log in to ur email usin safari then download stuff; so far the plist file includes the most popular keys.

    Edit: Mail.app handles all attachments as a .mob file; when downloaded completely it is able to determine if it can handle (view) the file on its own, and if it doesnt it will display a "null icon" (the lil blue one). So far i've seen it download any attachment, the thing is that its unable to open or view most of them. Downloaded mail.app files HAVE! to be in some other folder cleverly disguissed or with an unknown extention not related to the file u view.
