shawnie - the whole problem with that approach is that if you get an email while you are interacting with MobileMail.app, and IMAPIdle triggers a process restart, it will kill whatever you were typing or doing. That's the whole reason for the prompt.

If there was a way to check and see if MobileMail was maximized (i.e. actively in use) and only kill the process and force an email check if so, that would be great. But nobody seems to know how to do that.

anyone else the problem that it has to be activated again after each restart (turn power off and on, not standby). and maybe you should close the app when clicking on safe. i think its a little bit confusing that you get no feedback on the save button. anyways. great work! amazing app. thanx for that!

so then maybe have a toggle switch (on/off) for force reboot of mail.app upon incoming! That way, for those who don't mind having to rewrite mail once in a while, we can disable the notifications and just see it as if the iPhone had INTEGRATED push...

Has development of this application ground to a halt? There have been no new updates in ages, despite some great suggestions from people on this board.

    Hi

I am still using this app, but less and less frequently. I think it has some bugs, and the battery usage is really bad.

What I recently noticed is that the little red circle with the number of new messages in it wont show up.

Any possible future development of this app is possible, and foreseeable?

    Thanks

    Ben

There is actually a bug in the application. If your password has more than one word, if it includes spaces, it's gonna fail.

    dear deadstick,

is it possible to modify your code so activate=ON is its default value?
Is that is the case, I can make it as a system service and it will not die any more.
as I can see, is it is a system service, iPhone OS will bring it up again whenever it dies.

Any new developments regarding this? It would make the app a lot more stable if we can avoid it turning off without us knowing...

    Otherwise, I love the app...

Hey fellas --will this awesome app work on iPhone 2.0? Any plans to port it, if necessary?

Or is everyone just getting MobileMe for push email now...
