I just found it by accident (on a Mac). There is a checkbox in iCal's settings where you can automatically display birthdays from addressbook in iCal, they get synced then with the iPhone. I dont know if this is what you guys are looking for...

Well I dont know if thats what he means, but what I mean is on the phone itself. Say I add a birthday to a contact, then when I add it, it should also be added in the calender

I agree with GhostDog, it should be done automaticly in the phone.
But the solution from volkspost is also good for me as I sync my phone on the mac.
    Thank you very much.

Oh, sorry guys, I did not get the question
Right now the only way do archive this is to use the Mac/PC. iTunes "splits up" the two (address and birthday) and syncs two events, the address into contacts and the Birthday into Calendar. The iPhone does not know anything about that.

I agree it should be the way you want it to be but so far the only way is to add the bithday to the contact on the iPhone, then after the next sync have it as a calendar event aswell (cause iTunes completes the job)
