Default [Problem] Camera roll severely lags...

My iPhone "Camera Roll" section of photos located in the default apple photo's application lags severely. It does scroll, but scrolling is very, very choppy and slow. I don't have this problem in any other synced photo library.

The camera works fine and saves pictures, currently having about 500 pictures in the folder. Photo's open and zoom fine, only scrolling is a problem.

Anyone have this problem, and has anyone figured out a solution?

Delete all screenshots ( specially the .tif ones ) and all wallpapers , and it will scroll again very fast!!

Camera roll will scroll fast only with iphone camera shots! Wallpapers downloaded and screenshots are heavier pictures and will always slow down the scrolling!

    ENJOY

That didn't fix the problem unfortunately.

When i restored my phone from v1.02 a while back to 1.1.1, i had to SSH my photo's and .thm files back to the DCIM location. Since then I've been lagging.

Do the .thm files have anything to do with the lagging?

I copied the DCIM folder as-is from a previous FW version..

I think you've identified the problem yourself.

Have you tried backing up all your camera roll images (it sounds like you have) then removing all camera images from the phone. I think you'll find that all new camera pictures you take after that will not have the scrolling problem.

Before you do that, I'd be interested in what you see if you try to run imFlow. Does it show you any preview images in coverflow mode, does it show you white images only, or does it just crash back to springboard/summerboard? (You have an unusual image library setup that I haven't tested on yet.)

PS. I don't think the thm files are used at all for scrolling. The only place they might appear is in the grid view for selecting images in thumbnail size.

The lagging occurs in the grid/thumbnail view, but never when scrolling from one image to another in full-size/zoomed view.

As for imFlow, all the images show up but scrolling lags. Viewing images works fine as well.

This is a side effect for me of using Wallpaper.app and downloading to the camera roll.

Still love the program though! I recommend taking those pictures off with iPhoto as soon as you can.

I still have problems when there's nothing but camera images in the folder. I removed all my screenshots, wallpaper.app saves, etc.. and still laggy (though not as much).

Hmm...no idea, I used to work for an Apple Retail Store. There would be hundreds of pictures on the iPhones sometimes, and the camera rolls were smooth as butter. haha somewhere on the path of jailed --> jailbroken, we installed something wrong.
