I have moved the Applications folder onto the larger /private/var partition to give more room for applications. So far everything is working flawlessly - apart from Cydia :(
Once I try to start it, it launches, shows a "blank" windows for 1 secnd, then fails back to the springboard :(
Now if this a common issue with Cydia? Or am I just plain unlucky?
I can "solve" it by leaving a symlink to /var/stash/Applications/Cydia.app under /Applications/ - but this is IMHO not a very good way to try to solve the issue.
What happens when I try to install new applications? Will Cydia install them to the defaul Applications dir (hence /private/var/Applications) or will it use the Cydia install dir? (hence /var/stash/Applications/) ?
Why you have moved it? Cydia does it by itself in the first start. Maybe your problem are permissions. Did you checked it?
I'm soo daft.. Didn't notice that /var is a symlink to /private/var.. On my old iPhone I ould move the Applications folder to free up space on the tiny 300/500MB partition.
