Default permission denied, even though it's chmodded!?

    Hi,

after building the Hello World application I put it in /private/var/root on my iPhone.
When I tried to execute it using the terminal I got permission denied even though i had +x chmodded it. :-(
I then copied it to /bin and tried to launch it from there. That succeeded! :-)

I wonder why it can't be executed when it is in the /private/var/root directory?

    Regards,
    /Tompa

    Check the contents of /etc/fstab.
If you've broken out of jail, it probably says:

    /dev/disk0s1 / hfs rw 0 1
    /dev/disk0s2 /private/var hfs rw,noexec 0 2

You can remove the 'noexec' flag, or leave it
and place symbolic links to the executables
    somewhere on disk0s1.
