    Default Permanently download emails?

I noticed that the iPhone does _not_ permanently save your emails. They're only stored in some temporary place, so whenever you're neither connected to WIFI nor Edge, you can't read most of them.

I think this is a major downside. Plus, having to download emails several times increases EDGE costs for those of us who don't have an unlimited data plan.

Is there a way to make the iPhone permanently save the last x emails? Or could someone throw together a hack that would do the job?

i have the impression if you use an imap account the mails are stored on your iphone. pop3 seems to not store them permanently. check it out. I redirected all my mails to imap (not yahoo, but I guess that works just fine, except for the pushthing here in germany) and can that way store important pdfs and stuff on my phone.

I also get this problem. Maybe someone could find the hidden setting to enable permanent downloads
