    Default [MobileSafari] won't store cookies?

So I'm running 1.1.2 OTB upgraded dev style to 1.1.3 and I've noticed recently that safari is asking me to re-log in just about everytime I want to do something on facebook, or igoogle. My guess is that for some reason I've stopped storing my login cookies on my iphone. I've messed around with the settings a bit, uninstalled some different software, and searched the web and found little help. Anyone out there that can help a brother out?

Interesting.....have you had it all along or is it a problem that developed over time? Also have you seen any other posts on this topic?

It's funny...I haven't seen another post about this...search only brings up this post.
Safari worked fine on my 1.1.1 , cookies were stored.

The moment I upgraded to 1.1.3 ... Safari will not store my login ids for any website.

Just changed the setting for cookies from "visited" to "always" and it seems to have fixed the problem.

Starting with 1.1.3, your cookies should be stored in /private/var/mobile/Library/Cookies/Cookies.plist

Take note of the file size and Date Modified values. Now go try to login to a site (e.g. Hackint0sh forums) and see if the those values changed. If it didn't, then your cookies aren't being stored there since they're actually being stored in /private/var/root/Library/Cookies/Cookies.plist

What you could do is change the ownership of /private/var/root/Library/Cookies/Cookies.plist and then change its permissions to 0755. Then make a symbolic link from /private/var/mobile/Library/Cookies/Cookies.plist to /private/var/root/Library/Cookies/Cookies.plist

Enter this with SSH or VT-100, this will fix your problem of /var/mobile/ having the wrong permission and not being able to save data.

    chown -R mobile:mobile /var/mobile

This will change the permissions of everything under /var/mobile

    Will this adversely affect anything?

thanks , but by the way , i want to get more of you

in another thread i mentioned about my bookmark problem

whenever i add a bookmark to iphone safari , after i re-boot ,i loose them all

    also loose history

however , after just entering the address to bookmarks , and shut safari , open it back ,i can see the bookmarks ... but no way if i reboot

more strange , if i sync IE bookmarks , they survive and remain there , even i boot the phone ...

i solve this problem by adding even unnecessary iphone-related bookmarks (like iphone.beejive.com , iphone.facebook.com) on IE ,and syncing them with iphone

but i really need to solve it , and manage to bookmark directly from my phone ,and have them survive after re-boot

    any idea or solution ?
