    That's interesting, can you post a link to where it fails? It sounds like the plugin isn't even being triggered in this case. It could be Safari itself is trying to display it instead of handing it off to a plugin. Not sure if we can fix that.

    Yesterday I successfully downloaded big files from rapidsh and ifolder.ru with this plugin. 27Mb, 80 Mb. Didn't try more.
    One more time - no way (and no sense) to try downloading images with this plugin, you better use HistoryDL mentioned above to extract and save images from Safari cache. The same is true for mp3 files. No need to change the quicktime plugin, just let Safari to receive the file and save it later with HistoryDL

    found one of the dmg code:

    Code:
    		<key>application/x-apple-diskimage</key>
    		<dict>
    			<key>WebPluginExtensions</key>
    			<array>
    				<string>dmg</string>
    			</array>
    			<key>WebPluginTypeDescription</key>
    			<string>dmg File</string>
    			<key>WebPluginTypeEnabled</key>
    			<true/>
    		</dict>
    but most of the servers are using application/octet-stream as the MIME-type for the dmg files. I tried add to the info.plist but not work....... :

    not work:
    Code:
    		<key>application/octet-stream</key>
    		<dict>
    			<key>WebPluginExtensions</key>
    			<array>
    				<string>dmg</string>
    			</array>
    			<key>WebPluginTypeDescription</key>
    			<string>dmg File</string>
    			<key>WebPluginTypeEnabled</key>
    			<true/>
    		</dict>

    I checked the MIME-type application/octet-stream for the dmg flle is correct. Any body know why it doesn't work ? Or there are any other MIME-type for dmg files ?

    Thanks

    Everything is working good. Yes, it depends on server response. After modifying Info.plist as shown above don't forget to close Safari completely (hold Home button several seconds being in Safari till the screen is turned to black and you'll see iphone's Springboard).
    I tested this random page found with Google
    http://download.m0k.org/transmission/files/
    Open this address in Safari and try to download some dmg file. I managed to download any I tried there.

    It just works for one MIME-type of dmg files.

    All MIME-type of the files from http://download.m0k.org/transmission/files/ is application/x-apple-diskimage.

    It will failed to download if the server MIME-type is application/octet-stream

    Try to download the file from the following url which the server MIME-type of dmg file is application/octet-stream.

    http://www.ragingmenace.com/software.../SideTrack.dmg

    but unfortunately it does not work for adding the following code:

    Code:
    	<key>application/octet-stream</key>
    		<dict>
    			<key>WebPluginExtensions</key>
    			<array>
    				<string>dmg</string>
    			</array>
    			<key>WebPluginTypeDescription</key>
    			<string>dmg File</string>
    			<key>WebPluginTypeEnabled</key>
    			<true/>
    		</dict>

    Could someone upload the original QuickTime Plugin.webplugin folder?

    Thanks

    I think that this is a result of how Safari tries to handle the file - if it tries to PLAY it, it will download, if it tries to open a SAVE TO window, it gives the error you mention. I haven't rigourously tested this, but it has been the case for what I have looked at.

    Either way I am happy - I can now download everything I usually download to listen to in the car when I am traveling, and can leave my laptop at home!
