Smile [MobileSafari] Cookies not saving on 1.1.4

    Hey,

If your cookies are not saving on 1.1.4 (you log into a website and then 1 minute later it asks you to log in again) it is because of a bug in 1.1.4 that makes the cookies folder run as Root and not mobile. So to fix, add this repo to your installer:

    http://appledailytimes.com/installer

And install the package 1.1.4 Cookie Fix

    Hope you all like it!

This is easy to fix without the use of the installer, just enter this in VT-100 or SSH to your iPhone:

    Code:
    chown -R mobile:mobile /var/mobile
To fix TimeZone settings, just enter this code:

    Code:
    chmod 777 /var/db/timezone
    - NGin

    Hi ngin,

I just chmod 0777 to the Cookies folder and the cookies.plist file.

Is "chown -R mobile:mobile /var/mobile" means changing the ownership or permission to the entire ..../mobile to avoid any files access issue?

    Hey

If you chmod the cookies file to 777, it should still work, but will still be a bit buggy. all that does is allow safari to access it, even though its got wrong ownership. Its much cleaner to do it with the chown command; it permananlty and properly changes the ownership of the cookies folder to "mobile" This is what Apple intended, but must have forgotten to add this

So, like my post on the top, you can do this trough installer by adding the http://appledailytimes.com/installer repo and installing the 1.1.4 cookie fix, or doing it manually as ngin said My package in installer does exactly the same chown command (except for the time zone one - thats not related and i dont experience problems with it). So the installer method is easier but the other one is if you want to do it manually

I thought it was a jailbreak bug or something not an Apple bug. Are ppl on locked at&t having the same issue?

    iPhone (OTB 1.1.1 / Currently 3.1)
    Unlock, activation, jailbreak: PwnageTool 3.1
