    Question [MobileChat] Problem Connecting

I'm able to connect onto my AIM with Mobile Chat and Apollo just fine when im connected with WIFI but when i on EDGE none of them are ever able to connect.
Would anyone know why this happens? and does it happen to everyone else?

Also, what application is better for AIM? MobileChat or Apollo?

I personally prefer MobileChat for one simple fact: you can turn the iPhone sideways and use a larger keyboard.

That is, I USED to like MobileChat better. When I first went to 1.1.4, I had both programs working with IMChat Fix. After a restore, however, (still on 1.1.4) Apollo was the only thing I could get working. IMChat Fix did not work for EITHER program but I was able to find a forum post that had me manually replace the HOSTS file. That got Apollo working, but I can't find a similar fix/workaround for MobileChat.

If anyone knows how to get MobileChat working, I would be VERY appreciative!

To be honest, I didn't check to see if WiFi was necessary. But I did do some more digging and found that MobileChat has had a couple of updates that Conceited doesn't have. You have to use the official twenty08 Installer source - http://twenty08.com/installer - to get the latest version, 2.23.

It works! And it has a few new things like theme support and "keep wifi alive". Try it out and see if that solves your problem.

Just a guess, Are you on T-Mobile using the T-Zones internet plan ($5.99)? Many non-apple apps that use internet don't work correctly with this proxy based connection. Others that don't work are Nikotalkie, SyncJE, SongID. These will work on the full internet plan from Tmobile and AT&T's iPhone plan.

Yes, i am using the $5.99 internet plan

it seems like YouTube gets a little sketchy when using EDGE too, i wonder if it's the $5.99 internet plan.
Is this internet plan slower then the other Hot Spot Internet Plan

"Once in Installer.app click "Source" then "Edit" and then finally "Add".
Enter the following URL and then press "OK":
    http://twenty08.com/installer

Once its done refreshing, select "Install" then "twenty08" and finally "MobileChat""

This will install the latest version which is not anywhere else in installer (v2.23) and has fixed all of my issues.
