Question lower level formating ipod touch

    hi

I was wondering if they have lower level formatting tool for ipod touch 2nd 3rd generation. Just like windows hard drive one formats using debug command and which wipes of entire hard drive is there any commands that one can use using iRecovery to do lower level format on ipod touch. The reason i want to do lower level format is because i cant play video file no can play music file on the ipod it keeps on giving errors " this video cannot be played " OR this audio can not be played" that goes for all music and video one that i have bought off iTunes. so i am thinking something must have screwed up the file system or root file system that's why i want to perform the lower level format.
    Thanks

Most likely it's a problem with the media library -- you can fix this by plugging into iTunes, telling iTunes to stop syncing all types of media from the device, then tell it OK when it says this will remove all media from the device. Once it's done, reboot the iPod, reboot the computer running iTunes, and plug the iPod back in and re-sync the media. It should rebuild the media library from scratch and fix your issues.

Did you uncheck music and videos, then hit sync, then check music and videos, then sync again?? (It might be apply or something)

One thing i did find out about iTunes and iOS lately is if iTunes thinks the media file is already on the disk it will not copy it over again...

at very least you could either "Erase All Content and Settings" from the settings app which would force you to restore anyway (if you are jailbroken)

OR you could log into your phone using SSH and delete the /var/mobile/Media/iTunes_Control directory from your iPod... I'm not sure if that would fix your problem but it would surely delete your media to put it back on with iTunes
Get the latest info for NoAccSplash Here
Currently it should work on iOS 4.x - 6.x
