Exclamation Lost ALL apps while moving them to Media folder !

I was following the instructions on http://www.hackthatphone.com/112/iph...space_mac.html
on how to move the Applications directory space, for more apps to be installed.

At first, I thought I could use the Terminal app on my iphone, and had mixed success: I could install more apps, but for some odd reason, my standard CALCULATOR app went missing. Browsing via MobileFinder, I saw that there were some new folders called Applications_ROOT.
Which is strange, since the unix commands only specified creating ROOT_Application directory!
Then I tried to use Mac Terminal to 'rollback' by using these commands, as listed on the HackThatIphone.com link above:

"If you should want to reverse this process, to remove the symlink, enter the following commands into the Terminal:
    rm /Applications
    cp -R /var/root/ROOT_Applications /Applications
    rm -rf /var/root/ROOT_Applications "

Now I've lost ALL my apps on the main screen! It can still receive calls, but there is no UI at all now!
I've tried using FUGU and Cyberduck to move the apps back from Applications_ROOT over to the Applications directory, which I had to re-create, but it keeps failing with:
    "SSH Error: Cannot rename file
    /private/var/root/Applications_ROOT/MobilePhone.app"

My iPhone is on firmware 1.1.1.

Can anyone please help on how I can resolve this problem?!??
    Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure how to resovlve the problem, but you could have just used the app called "Boss Tools". It will automaticly move the app folder for you.

Put it another way, is there any method of being able to move the .app folders back into /Applications?
Is it true that the /Applications folder is normally locked and cannot easily have files copied into it?

    May have a chance here:
Before, was using Cyberduck to just drag the .app folders to my desktop, but turns out they were all zero kb sizes... dunno how that messed up.
Now, right-clicking on the .app folders, and select "Download to" and saving to desktop... and then re-uploading them to the Applications directory. (Already on permission 0755).
It seemed to have worked for the MobileAddressBook.app....
Wish me luck on the rest of the apps!!!!!!!!

but even if you manually move them, you need to symlink them to work still or else whenever u click on the icon itll jus give an error msg or not work at all. you need to move the folder as well as symlink them.

i havent done this yet tho, but i plan to but dont wanna run into any problems like i keep reading. hoping for an easier solution like explained by bosstools but i keep hearing problems about that program also

    IT WORKED!!!
I now have my apps back on the Springboard!!! WOOHOO!

Man, that was scary... Guess I now need to figure out the best way to backup the iphone's full directory via USB2.0 to speed up the process!

The only original app that I can't restore properly is the Calculator. The .app folder is there, but nothing in it. Not even on the Applications_ROOT folder.
Can someone help upload theirs to r@pidshare so that I can try pushing that to my iphone? Thanks!

OK, BossTool 0.33 worked fine for me, 100% no problems.
    Installer.app source is: http://ww.sleeper.net/~iphone~repo.xml
(Apparently, the link is very case-sensitive)
    From Utilities > BossTool 0.33
Took afew mins to download and install.

Thanks to SKB875 for the suggestion!!!!
