    1.1.2: Install "More Keyboards & Regions" under Tweaks (1.1.2) in Installer.app
    1.1.1: Set the International setting in .GlobalPreferences (I don't remember where the file is located so do a search for language and GlobalPreference and you should find a thread with its location) to TRUE

    If you're looking for localized language files then I'm afraid you're out of luck with the possible exception of porting the .lproj files from an iPod touch for the common applications...

    I don't see this option in the Tweaks (1.1.2) folder. I may have inadvertently removed a source that contained this, or everyone here has a repository added that I don't yet. Any hints?

    The source in question is http://cynix.org/iphone.plist . For more information, see http://cynix.org/iphone/more_keyboar...for_1.1.2.html .

    here is a very simple way to install japanese input keyboard on 1.1.3 (i have 1.0.2otb unlocked via anysim 1.3 and ziphone) - do you know the 2 letter codes for any other asian languages?

    1. install mobilefinder
    2. install mobiletext edit
    3. in MobileFinder, navigate to /var/mobile/Library/Preferences
    4. highlight GlobalPreferences.plist
    5. click on File->Modify->Open with->TextEdit.app
    6. this will open a new screen with the code for the global preferences. scroll down to find

    <array>
    <string>en US</string>
    </array>

    ...and edit it to add a line so it looks like this:

    <array>
    <string>en US</string>
    <string>ja</string>
    </array>
    in text edit, i just scrolled down and added <string>ja</string> it was so f**king easy!!! now i can type anything in Japanese.

    does anyone know the 2-letter codes for other asian languages not included on the keyboards for the settings menu for 1.1.3, such as korean, mandarin, cantonese?

    The whole editing the key thing didn't work for me w/ 1.1.3 firmware. I tried it on 3 different phones, but it was always encrypted.
    Instead I found a much better way. This way can make the whole phone into whatever language you want.

    Instructions are here
    http://psedog.com/iphone/language/

    In total there are 17 languages, w/ about 13 of them having a keyboard option

    Edit: here are the keyboards Available
    Japanese, Chinese, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian Bokmai, Finnish, Polish, Portuguese

    I noticed that as well. I didn't notice until a couple of days ago. I'm going to restore my phone, since I haven't done a full backup since 1.1.1.
    This time I'll back up everything before doing the language install. I'll change the packages once I figure out what is breaking it.
    I apologize for the inconvenience .

    Alright I found the culprit although I haven't figured out how to get both languages and maps to work.
    If you want your maps to work right now and am not that worried about other languages, then here is the file

    http://psedog.com/iphone/language/ui...3.og/UIKit.zip

    Put it in this folder
    System\Library\Frameworks\UIKit.framework

    Be careful if you want to edit this file. If you get any of the code wrong it will brick your phone (I did it several times ). As long as you don't reboot the phone, you can test and play with it (i.e. replace and test maps.app). But make sure you have a good one in the folder before rebooting the phone.

    I forgot to mentiont that you have to replace the artwork files as well. I added it to the same zip file as the UIKit.

    Alright, here is the best way to get international languages on 1.1.3

    http://repo.aakqtr.com

    Add that into installer
    Goto BiOsS Modz
    install *1.1.3* International...

    Now that I have the right way, I'll try to figure out how to fix the maps program on a messed up phone, Sorry guys for messing up your maps program
    I'll try to right my wrongs

    Here is the fix
    http://psedog.com/iphone/language/fix.zip

    Replace the files in the folder
    \System\Library\Frameworks\UIKit.framework
