    you r wrong,
only dinamicay liinking proprietary application to lgpl library is OK.

staticaly linking to proprietary apps (aka builting into app) is not allowed with lgpl projects.

True, I have no idea how this app in question is linked together, i was simply pointing out that the LGPL doesn't make such strict requirements on modified code as the GPL does.

So two wrongs make a right apparently?

    Sad times.

I mean theres no apparent FFMPEG material in the application directory. You have to go into the binary to see how its done. Who does this? Who decompiles just for the hell of it?

if you are trying to imply me, you are wrong.
but you do realize all someone has to do to see that it uses ffmpeg is run a search on the binary for "FFMPEG"

fyi credit should have been givin to "core" since he ported it (ffmpeg) to iphone, and if you saw his site youd have seen i was collabing with him about ffmpeg stuff a while ago.

licensing stuff isnt very hard to understand, basically people license their code so others cant steal it and not give credit where its due. but it happens every day.

This is what this board or any board typically tries to stay away from. Killing a cop, even if he's dirty doesn't mean you can get away with it... Unfortunately.

Grey area. But, its better to ask for forgiveness than permission! Let me test this biznatch!

    EDIT: The hack works great.

BTW, just because this one is out, doesn't mean that the other video recorders won't be better. I'll personally try them all.
