Default let's make our own keyboard...

    guys,

I believe some of us notice some non English keyboard here and there and dream a lot to have one in his language
and with the coming of new firmware the problem has been solved for those who do not want 3rd party app and still loyal AT&T customer.
so in this situation we have to options to solve the problem

it is either to wait for Dev team to hack the new firmware(which I believe it is ganna be soon with all thanks to them)

or to be positive and work something out and not waiting with doing nothing.

    So pleasssse let's move....

any ideas or hints to start are so appreciated

Do I understand correctly that you want to make a keyboard without installing any 3rd party app? Can you explain how?

AFAIK, Karpenko's keyboards use an app and a framework similar to APE. Not exactly the "neatest" solution out there (although the most easiest to mod and create your own keyboards).

Mycintosh's German language pack also changes the keyboard, as far as i recall, and doesn't require an app to do it, but just replaces system files containing it.

Check the language pack thread and Mycintosh's site.

Ye, but this still requires jailbreaking.

I don't think there is a way to do ANYTHING without jailbreaking
