What i still don't understand is: can you put the files back on your iPhone in ASCII or do you have to convert them back to binary somehow before you do that?

iPhone supports both binary and text/ascii format of these files, at least for these languages files. So you don't need to convert them back to binary.

I have succesfully added a new language to the list. I added the Dutch language (origionally not in the list) by adding <string>nl</string> at the top of the list and adding folders nl_NL.lproj to put the .string files in. Apperently it looks for the first part of the foldername.

I am almost done translating the device. It runs almost completely in the Dutch language now. The only thing i can't find is the file in witch the localisation strings for the names of the days/months and date format is stored. I gues this is a global thing since i have translated al the seperate apps and in some the date are correct now, but for some ie. Calendar i haven't been succesful yet.
