    Question iPhone Video Capture

I was just wondering if it would be able to create an app with the capabilities to record videos with the built in camera on the iPhone?

If it may be possible, then I guess this would be a request for that feature

there was a thread about a week ago, same topic, think it said you only can take a pic a second that makes video capture near impossible

In germany there is a saying: "wer lesen kann ist klar im vorteil" that means something like "those who are able to read are advanced"

    Yeah -.-'

I did check a few pages back (didn't use search this time) and decided to make a thread, the thing is - I also wanted to expand a bit too. I am no forum n00b, thank you.

    ANYWHO,
I gathered that the slowness may be the problem but what if you were to decrease the size of the image the area the camera were to capture? Like instead of taking a picture to fill a whole screen, maybe half the screen size. Could that speed up processing enough to allow video capture. I do not know much about the iPhone and coding for it etc (All I know is VB at the mo -.-') that is why I am asking.

pocket-lint.co.uk is reporting that an 'insider' says this will be added in a apple software update in the future.

Could this be helpful perhaps: http://macdaddyworld.com/?p=38

Looks like this has been done a while ago. I remember reading about it. If someone could use what they did, I think a video capture app wouldn't be too difficult.

The hardware is certainly capable of doing video capture... At the moment the level of access we have to the iPhone does not allow us to do much more than intercept the picture taking process.

If you think about it, if you can see a live image on the screen just before you snap a shot, then there is obviously a system in place to take images from the CCD at at least that speed, if not faster...

Wait for one of the more deft hackers to find it, or for the SDK in Feb, and then the flood gates will open...
