Default Installous problems, "Download failed. Could not start saving file." message

I recently updated my iPod touch (1st gen) from 2.1 jailbroken to 2.2 jailbroken. I tried to install apps through installous on 2.1 and 2.2, and I always get the same message:

I've uninstalled the Safari DL Plugin, and I installed Installous through Cydia (using the source http://cydia.hackulo.us). Any help or support would be appreciated.

He didn't mean "rename". He meant this:
mkdir /private/var/mobile/Library/Downloads (if it does't already exist)
    chmod -R 777 /private/var/mobile/Library/Downloads

Hey, I have the same problem. what do you mean by "chmod -R 777 /private/var/mobile/Library/Downloads"?

I am SSH'd into /private/var/mobile/Library/Downloads. Do I click Preferences/transfer/upload options/then under the drop down under set premissions change octal: to 0777? Cuz I did that and it still does not work. Am I reseting to 0777 correctly?

Just right click the Downloads folder in /private/var/mobile/Library, and press file attributes.
then replace 755 with 777. then click ok, and its fixed.

    tada!

Hi - I've tried to do this using DiskAid, WinScp and i-funbox and I get no options to change properties or attributes when right clicking..is there a trick to this?

This is my first time SSH'ing but I'm pretty confident with what i'm doing and I think I've checked all over in those 3 programs programs to find a way to see the attributes or find SOMETHING that says 755 in this folder .. Can somebody please help?

    Many thanks

    Susan
