Another one, Kate by RiP Dev, is commercial (paid) software. It wouldn't surprise me if RiP Dev paid Nullriver a fee for being featured and "Today".
Thinking about this again, I think the Recent list is probably based on the time stamps in the repositories. In a repo's package list, each package has a 'date' key. If you maintain a repository and change all the date keys to today, all your packages will be in today's list.

This is another thing that Cydia does better. In its Changes section you see no updates of things you haven't installed, and no things with untrue date stamps. Says the creator:

Installing Cydia programs on a phone that has no internet connection: read this.

Editing binary .plist, .strings, .nib and .xib files:
    * on your computer: Windows tool / conversion website.
    * on your iPhone: convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities) or edit them with iFile (Cydia links).

I don't know if it is just me... but I am having no probs whatsoever with Installer. I just couldn't download one ROM from iPhoneRoms (Mortal Kombat 3 Ultimate), I get "package download error" (I assume it is the ROM tho)

Other then that, Installer has been really great. Not slow at all...

I don't have anymore issues since i manually corrected permissions.
I've installed a lot of things since and no error, except for some down repos.

Will stay at 3.1 because 3.11 has an annoying refresh source slowdown.

There is a noticable difference? I haven't noticed anything except when I go to recent packages it is slower then it use to be (I assume because they have to put every featured app in there...)

    My installer is working fine.
It does get stuck on refreshing sources at the end but its only a 10-20 second delay.

I've noticed the fact that alot of apps have been "recent" for a while now

Same here. I use 3.1 with your suggestions for fixing permissions manually - no probs here on two iphones.

    thx,

i believe i'm using the latest installer and it crashes right when it's "refreshing sources" it takes me back to the springboard. any simple fix for this?

i never had this problem, it started a few weeks ago i believe.
