Default Installer sources via Installer downloads?

Does anyone know if there is a current protocol (or whatever) for Installer to add more sources via Installer downloads? For example, someone runs Installer, sees there is an "app" for download (via STE or someone) that adds another repository (e.g. John Doe's App Emporium). When the person installs this, the new repository is automatically added to the Sources list, without the user having to find the address on the WWW, and then type it in manually.

Don't know if this capability exists, but I sort of think it should. With more and more people uncrippling their iPhones, and more and more programs being added, 3 repositories probably isn't optimal. While one can always enter sources in manually, many people may not know this.

    LoL.......
Check out "sources" section (not the globe icon but the Sources category from the list) of installer . Enjoy.

yea. .. a better option could b that someone make an application that tracks repositories, where people can submit there repositories and there could b a small description of these sources ... And if the user wants to add a source to installer, he would just press export and the source could be automatically added to installer.

And the best case might b that installer adds this functionality.
