Default [Installer] 1.1.3 fix for Installer.app!

Long time lurker, first time poster.

This fixed all of my Installer.app crashing problems, including the white screen then back to springboard problem, the app icons not showing up after install problems, and the broken Installer after update problems. My problem turned out to be a simple disk space issue.

You need ssh access to do this; if it's broken, you'll have to restore, jailbreak, etc. again. Check out iClarified for help there. Don't forget to sync your phone first to backup your stuff.

    The Fix:
Once you have ssh access, ssh into your phone and do the following:
    Code:
    cd /Applications
    rm -rf Appname.app
Replace Appname with each 3rd party app you've installed, one by one, including Installer. Don't worry, we'll put it back.

Once you're done deleting the old stuff (you didn't delete any native apps, did you? Good, because then you'd have to restore again.) we'll put Installer.app back (thanks to Modiphone):
    Code:
    cd /Applications
    wget http://repository.apptapp.com/packages/System/Installer.zip
    rm -rf Installer.app
    unzip Installer.zip
    chmod +s Installer.app/Installer
    chown -R root:wheel Installer.app
    rm Installer.zip
    reboot
Now we have a working and updated Installer.app! Don't get excited and start installing apps yet, we're not done.

Open up Installer.app go to install -> sources, and install Bigboss's Community Sources, and Bigboss's Beta/Experimental Sources. After your sources have refreshed, install BigBoss's lifesaver of an app, BossTool.

Open up BossTool and tap Free Disk Space. Check out how much (or how little) free disk space you have in the smaller partition--I only had 6MB. Tap Relocate Ringtones (this will take a few seconds), then Relocate Fonts (this takes about a minute, be patient). Now check out the free space--Woohoo! I had 90MB afterward--plenty of space for apps. Now get to installing!

    What was going wrong before?
Installer.app 3.0 doesn't appear to be checking for free space properly (it's a known issue). After the 1.1.3 update/jailbreak, there's very little free space on the phone. After installing just a few apps, I ran out of space. Installer was trying to install apps but it would crash without warning when disk space ran out, then kick me back to springboard with no new app icons. Even worse, when Installer would try to update itself without proper disk space, it would break itself. Moving fonts and ringtones gives Installer some room to work.

Did the commands prior to that work?
    Which SSH-product are you using?
In any case try reconnecting. Maybe it helps also to ensure your iPhone stays ON, i.e. AutoLock OFF

for those that wget not working , use WinSCP to upload your file.

    what i did was

open IE put in http://repository.apptapp.com/packag.../Installer.zip, download it to your PC desktop

unzip it , it will looking Installer.app

    open winSCP

    go to root > app

    copy Installer.app to root> app

selet all the file inside installer.app folder. right click properties put 0755 for the file right

    restart

give about 2 min for installer to reload

    DONE

I havent had a problem with installer crashing out but I have had a problem with apps not showing up on springboard after installing them. Will this fix that problem or is that another issue altogether?
