Default [Idea] - Summberboard icon grouping

I don't know whether it already exists or can it be done, but I think it would be a great idea to have grouping in home screen icons.

For example, clicking on the "Games" group in the home screen takes me to another place that works like the home screen, with the icons of all the app (games) I put into it before, ie for cleaning up the home screen

I second this - I would love to see this feature! Or maybe even a 3rd party app that could accomplish it?

Thi sounds like a great idea but think about power consumption your battery would br drained having all the processes of diffrent "groups" runing in the background,

I would love to have this option though (if battery life was ok) as having four pages of apps gets annoying sometimes.

    I also made a Req: http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=11044

tupactim, I don't think it has nothing related to power...the main idea is to have an icont than launches other apps icons.
Suppose you can hide them with Customize/Rsbt or Xlaunch, and then a little app opening a simple new window with the selected apps. This selected apps, in a begining may be added manually through editing a plist from a pc.

You're a bit confused. What processes would be running in the background?

The only thing that would use battery is the launcher program, but then that probably uses the same amount as it takes to scroll thre springboard left and right.

Why are you putting so many apps on your phone if you're worried about battery life?

Do you know how much processing power is used to display half a dozen icons? And do you know how much is used to display 4 pages woth of Sprinboard?

The apps don't use any CPU unless you click on them

Your an idiot try actualy reading my posts if you want a seperate screen for icons under a certain category say games with 1 icon on the main screen once you tap that main screen icon up pops another screen opening ANOTHER summerboard app to show the icons

In total you could have hundreands of summerboard apps running in the background waiting for you to tap on one of your icons say games so they load quick and dont take all day,

And the summerboard app is CONSTALTY running in the background whether you like it or not!!

Come on tupactim, think it a little more or just say: Ok I was wrong...
Don't you think that springboard reads a folder content (/Applications) with all the apps installed and then displays all the icons?
Suppose you launch this "GroupingApps", I'm not a programmer, but this app in the moment when you launch it, it'll read and display the apps selected in some previous state and I can't find a reason for make it running in a background process...

Why does it has to be like Springboard? Ok may be it could be the look&feel, but nothing tells you that has to work like springboard. Do you know the Launcher app, if not please try it, it's very simple but you can see a closer way to make this app possible.

I hope you can understand me, and please I'm trying to show my point of view and not trying to offend you.

    Regards
