Default How to make Snapture default cam app

    Hey guys,

I've been looking for a way to make snapture the default cam app on my iphone.
no luck yet , the reason is that when i want to take a photo for example from swirlymms it directly goes to Camera.app .
even any other appstore app that uses camera uses Camera.app
    is there any fix ?

    thanks

didnt really think its that hard , since apps like bitesms and irealsms can be default SMS applications.

    Thats kinda interestin
Try switchin the Info.plist of both apps around... (the one from snapture on camera n vice versa).
    OR.... u can also try method 2;
    - appent a ".bak" extention to all files but the Info.plist on the Camera app dir (idk exactly where its located tho)
    - now move all the contents from the Snapture dir to cam app EXCEPT!!! the Info.plist one. (again leave the original plist there ok!)
-Rename snaptures executable to w.e name the executable was on cam app.

I mean if ur tryna replace one app for another i guess u no ur way around n ur not gonna mess anythin up! I gave u like a crash course.. do it at ur own risk
IF! u succesfully make the "transfusion" idk wut kind of erratic behavior the camera is gonna have :hack:

Could be more difficult than that, since the camera is not simply an application but a "framework" (one of those applications that can be called to action by various other apps, for example by the address book and the photo viewer).

If you replace the files in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Camera.framework with the files of Snapture.app, I wonder what happens.

Would be nice if you tried, though, and told us how it went.

Installing Cydia programs on a phone that has no internet connection: read this.

Editing binary .plist, .strings, .nib and .xib files:
    * on your computer: Windows tool / conversion website.
    * on your iPhone: convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities) or edit them with iFile (Cydia links).

well thank you guys for your replies.

but both of your methods require replacing files between both apps which could overwrite one of them.

I sometimes use camera.app , but i just want Snapture to be default.

    exactly as iRealSMS and MobileSMS

Well you could really exchange them, so you'd have Snapture as your default (under the name "Camera") and Camera as another one, still with an icon on Springboard, and by any name you choose.

Not trying to coerce you -- I don't think it will work.

    Hello ppl

I just tried this with no luck.

Tried replacing the camera app on PrivateFrameworks and it wont load, then i tried a SymLink Pointing to /Applications/Snapture.app/Snapture and the same, wont load.

    So... Any other ideas?

Re-sign everything with ldid (start Cydia and read "Bypassing Code Signature" on the main page) before you try to run them -- but again, it's not expected to work.

I believe those apps load the camera control/framework into them, kind of like a plugin if you wish. This is exactly what Snapture (and Camera) does and then post filters the result for the other effects. They don't load the actual Camera application. As Snapture is a program and not a referencable framework I'm pretty sure this is not possible.
