Default Help upgraded to 2.2.1 Cydia installed but hidden

I upgraded to Cydia, but used the Categories program to keep Cydia in a catagory. When I upgraded to to 2.2.1 it installed Cydia but has it as a hidden file since the Catagories program isn't installed. How do I make it visible again?

Install BossPrefs, Poof or SBSettings and "unhide" Cydia so it shows up on your Springboard.

    Good Luck!

**Disregard my comment above and do a fresh custom restore to 2.2.1 with PWNage Tool. That worked for my mate!"

    Similar problem here.

Categories has not been installed by aptBackup's restore.
I manually reinstalled it. My categories are still present, but empty.
    (f. ex. my Category "Games" no longec contains any game)

I tried do manually re-add them, but the don't show up.
    (the corresponding category remains empty)

Could it be that categories does not (yet) suppport 2.2.1 ?

I ended up doing a full pwn of my iphone. That got everything working properly again. However, I lost all of my settings and had to reload everything back on my iphone. I for one am not going to use categories again. The potential headache isn't worth the benefit to me.

This mite help, taken from bigboss

    A quick summary of solutions:

    1) If you have Cydia still visible you can install Quickgold and simply launch the hidden apps. You can launch bossprefs, poof, or such and unhide it.

    2) You can install SBSettings and unhide any apps that are hidden.

    3) You can launch settings app and disable / reenable restrictions which should unhide most of everything. (You will then need to use poof, bossprefs, or sbsettings and rehide what you want hidden).

    4) If you cannot install anything because Cydia is hidden, you can use apt-get install quickgold from the SSH prompt

    5) In the most drastic case where you also do not have SSH, you can use iphone browser and delete the file located at /var/mobile/Library/Preferences/com.apple.SpringBoard.plist. Then reboot.

Here's another tip: Open Safari, type cydia:// in the address bar and hit Go. Now you're in Cydia and you can install SBSettings, Categories or whatever you need.

Installing Cydia programs on a phone that has no internet connection: read this.

Editing binary .plist, .strings, .nib and .xib files:
    * on your computer: Windows tool / conversion website.
    * on your iPhone: convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities) or edit them with iFile (Cydia links).
