Default Google Dalvik VM on iPhone?

I'm wondering if anyone's heard anything about Google's Dalvik Virtual Machine being able to run on the iPhone. Could this actually be what the developer tools are based on? Google's Android will be using webkit for its browser underpinings. Is it possible that they cross-pollinated with Apple? Jobs has said he thinks mobile java is a joke, but Dalvik is very carefully described as not Java, just java-compatible.

Interesting idea, seems to be very slow to load dalvik vm (likely this will be optimised).

I personally don't think I will be paying $$ for any slow ported apps like this. (reminds me of the whole Mac Word 6 fiasco).
