    Default Garageband/Music Sequencer

If any app needs to be made/ported its one of these. So many times I've had an idea for a tune and been away from a computer, or if you're not musically inclined.......you could experiment making your own ringtones!!!!!

    Thumbs up

I agree, this is a good idea. First, we might want a music application to play music besides itunes. This would theoretically allow you to use the phone independent of itunes and syncing. Also, it would allow you to have some work done on a audio multitrack / sequencer. Probably would be limited to 4-8 tracks though...

All those samples and effects would take a huge amount of space, and also I don't think the iPhone's hardware is powerful enough to handle that.

Personally, I'm looking forward to using Garageband via VNC, because this way I don't have to stand up, hit the record button and sit down again while recording cello

True samples would take up space, but synth patches are so tiny that you could have everything...bass drums piano etc stored in no space at all. And the iphones hardware is plenty powerful enough to run effects etc. You must remember that people were making music on computers that had 300mhz clock speeds a while ago, early 90s electronica for example.

This is the kind of thing I'm after ---> www.psprhythm.com, if this can run on a psp (admittedly its hard to use as psp has no mouse etc) then iphone should be able to run something very substantial

Maybe a simple drum machine might be fun, especially on the go. There are a lot of open sample packs and loops out there..and of course a way to save and maybe export what you created.

thats f#%&kin awesome aye, cant wait for that...

Surely apple have a Logic version for the iphone in the thinktank, they have always wanted Logic to rule the production world, so complete coverage would help.

Surely a 4 track will be enough, if worried about power, A select few of the logic plug-ins,

Ultra-beat mainly so that you can get a beat down with out samples untill you move to the full seqencer.
Then maybe some cut down versions of various synths, hopefully the ES2, my fav!
Add some effects an what more could you want, im sure you could record audio of a certain length in poor quality thru the built it mic!

All midi notes get drawn in using the step-sequencer...I need it now! haha

    that MPC looks mad tho!
