Default dTunes : Updated (version 2.3) - Video Support + File Management

    Guys,

I've just sent version 2.2 of dTunes to MMI for uploading to the repo - should be available soon.

For those that do not know, dTunes is a Music and Video media player for playing locally stored media files.

Using the Safari Plugin 2.0 (written by Jonathan Misurda) it is possible to download files from the internet directly on to the iPhone / iTouch. (eg: podcasts etc) dTunes provides access to these files and allows playback.

More details on the update can be found on my website:
    http://rsapps.wordpress.com/

    Richard.

The initial release saw over 25,000 downloads in the first few days.

    Hey,

Are you playing the video from the link in the browser? If so then this isn't anything to do with dTunes. This is the Safari Plugin 2.0 so not sure.

However, if you're downloading both files and then having problems playing them after each other then this is related to dTunes, but I can't duplicate.

    Cheers

Are you sure about 320 x 320? Wallpaper .png are 480 x 320 and the Media Player window does not look like a square. At any rate, I am not sure about one thing. You can put just one cover.png file per directory? Are these directories the folder you create within dTunes or just the main dTunes directory?

    Thanks

Yes, it needs to be a square image otherwise it will be stretched and squashed. The max size is 320x320. The image goes in the space above the bottom two bars and can be seen underneath the top bar where the slider is.

Like I said, it's just a work around for people if they wanted to customize the player slightly rather than look at the standard background. It cannot read the artwork inside an mp3 file.

Finally, you are correct. You can copy one cover.png file into each of the directories (or folders) created inside the app. You'll need to SSH these though i'm guessing.

    Thanks
