    not possible at the moment, it would mean hacking springboard and other areas of the system too.

    simply set a password and select the option "show sms preview off". That is the way I get mine not to pop up. Cheers

    hey the password option is not what I'm looking for, I want complete sms pop off, not just don't show the message,

    I hate the popups too because after you read the text, you still have that red tag with a "1" next to SMS making you think you have a new text, when really you've already read it. Every time I get a new text I have to go into SMS and simply view it so I get rid of that red "1" notification. It's annoying.

    I wish Apple would add a button under each pop up that says "Mark as Read" so it doesn't show up as a new message in the SMS app

    Ok, then someone "hack the springboard " so we can turn it off
