Default First manually added source to Cydia

Please note the following steps are prom iPhone terminal. All command must be entered without quotes. All commands are case sensitive.

    1. Start terminal on your iPhone
    2. Become a root. Start "su" from terminal and enter the proper password. The default one is alpine.
    3. Go to proper directory where information is stored. "cd /etc/apt/sources.list.d"
    4. Now we will create a new file and will put necessary information at one step. The next line must me typed with quotes. Don't repeat following command more then once because it will create unnecessary duplicate entries in the file. I'll name new file manualadded.list
    5. echo "deb http://deb.phoneflore.fr/ stable main" >> manualadded.list
    6. Exit from terminal and start Cydia
    7. Refresh sources from Cydia /circle arrow on the top right corner under Install/.
    8. Congratulations you have new packages.

If you want to get rid of those new packages just delete the line "deb http://deb.phoneflore.fr/ stable main" from /etc/apt/sources.list.d/manualadded.list file and refresh Cydia sources again.

i followed those steps carefully n i didnt get any error!
now all i need is wi-fi
    i'll find it somewhere

    Edit: it didnt work
i got this error "Package error NetDB: No Address associated with hostname"
seems like we need something else to get it runnin smoothly
cuz i got the manualadded.list to the /etc/apt/sources.list.d
    so idk.....

    Yes you do.

    Some clarification before actual instructions.

Cydia is UI front end of Debian package management system.
During installing following actions are performed.
    - Applications directory is moved from small partition to the big one and creates a symbolic link to the new directory. It is the same functionality as Move Apps from BossToll.
    - Base Linux system is installed overwriting BSD Subsystem files and adding additional files.
    - Debian package management system is installed /apt/.
    - Cydia UI front end is installed.

Following instructions will uninstall Cydia UI frontend only. The process is reversible /I love that part/.

    1. If you are using PuTTY skip to 4.
    2. Start terminal
    3. Become root. “su” and enter the root password.
    4. Execute the following command “apt-get remove cydia”. From Debian point of view this operation is dangerous. You have to confirm your request by typing whole sentence. In this particular case it is “Yes, do as I say!”
    5. The command will finish with message that non-empty directory is not removed. That is fine. You can remove it if you like. It is up to you. That file keeps information related to date when new package was available. It is displayed in changes tab in Cydia.
    6. Execute “apt-get clean” to clean downloaded .deb packages.
    7. Next step is to restart the SpringBoard. I am using Respring option from SysInfo application.

    The result is:
The Cydia icon will disappear but Debian base system and Debian package management will remain untouched. Basically you will not benefit too much from removing Cydia.

If later you change your mind and want to install Cydia again, one of possible solutions is:
    - Execute “apt-get update” from terminal as root
    - Execute “apt-get install cydia”
    - Restart the SpringBoard.

i had to do some restores because of experiments i was running, and now i was finally "ok" again, until i noticed that cydia (after i had updated it and installed some stuff with no problems) closes itself after a few seconds of opening it.

as far as i remember, all i did was install a few games/apps form isntaller, AND, when i noticed that bossprefs was not disabling edge (or at least, the switch returned to on after a few secs of "thinking"), i changed permisions of the whole mobile folder to 777.

is there a folder/file/folders/files in there that need lower permisions for cydia to run ?
i cant install the refresh package cause it gives me a main script execution error, and reinstalling cydia does the same.

i went to the mobileterminal (that i downloaded from cydia), and after logguin as root (i think, i typed su, and then the pasword), i ran apt-get update and apt-get clean, that didnt work either.

"su" command is still not working for me with alpine as password and the terminal installad from cydia, i get wrong password.
But the strange thing is, when i connect with SSH, alpine is accepted as root password. So any idea whats wrong with it? Any way i can restore the password with ssh, as i have root acces on that.

    ssh -l root XXX.XX.XX.XXX
    alpine

    Then enter this command:
    passwd

You will then be prompted to enter your new password, and then confirm it. You'll then be returned to the system prompt when it has been changed. That's it.

i got the same exact problem couple weeks back. i manually download the latest version here: http://apptapp.saurik.com/com/saurik. the just overwrite the whole Cydia.app folder with the new one and it worked now.
