Default ...and the contacts magically appeared..................

    premise.....
I have a SW unlock phone with a TMobile USA SIM.
I had about 100 contacts number in the sim which I never trasfered on the iPhone.
I read recently the way to transfer it, is with the old cell to iCal and then from iCal to iPhone, but didn't have time to do this in the past few days.
This morning I save 2 numbers in the iphone contacts, one of which was a new number and one was alredy in the sim (but not transfered yet).
Suddenly all 100 contact appeared on the iphone contact database.
I don't know if there is a function that transfer directly the contacts from the sim to the iPhone which I didn't know or I have triggered something in particular which made this possible.

It's a Imiracle! No, seriously. You are very lucky. I had to input all my contacts manually, since I don't have iCal (don't have a Mac). I'm surprised the iPhone does not have this functionallity built in.

    Yeah, u lucky mate...
I've transferred my SIM stored contacts using a Sony/Erics Mac OS compatible phone via bluethoot then ran a sync by ICal.

I believe that would be simply great to find a way that lets you import all contacts saved in the SIM just using the IPhone.

........moreover, I have now number in my phonebook which I think I had deleted 6-7 years ago, and are not present in the phonebook of my Razor when I switch back the sim card. I have also 3 identical contact from Apple Computer Inc. appear out of the blue. I Think the iPhone is looking in two different memories area of my sim card.

When you get the SIM contacts to show up on your phone, are they copied to the iPhone, or is the phone just displaying whats on the SIM?

Since it's possible for the iPhone to read the SIM, someone should be able to write a program to make it work right.

I think they are copied in the iPhone contact. I dont think is just displying them since I can use and edit them. The funny think is that is resurrecting ancient contacts. Also if I had a contact like Joe cell, is thinking that cell is the last name putting it under the c.
