Default Can Weather.app icon display the local temperature ?

Would like to see the weather icon show the current temp the way the calendar icon shows the current date, and maybe even the clock icon show the current time?

The reason it doesn't is because this would have to contact the Net too often.

The date only changes once a day.

How often do you want the temp to update? How much battery life are you willing to sacrifice?

Once or twice a day is good enough for me...

Installing Cydia programs on a phone that has no internet connection: read this.

Editing binary .plist, .strings, .nib and .xib files:
    * on your computer: Windows tool / conversion website.
    * on your iPhone: convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities) or edit them with iFile (Cydia links).

Or whenever it auto-checks for email. It will have to contact the net then, anyway.

Is the auto-calendar-icon hardcoded into Springboard? Or is it something separate which could be copied and modified to work for the Weather icon too?
