Default Calendar app with Google calendar support

The native iphone calendar pretty much sucks. Be cool if there was a better one with Google calendar syncing support. Mobile Google calendar doesn't show the whole month and you cant delete appointments also you have to be connected to see it.

I've got a pretty good idea how to sync Google Calendar with the iphone calendar, and since iphone uses sqlite and sqlite supports locking - it should be possible to have it run on the phone in the background, without any user intervention. I've mostly proven the concept, except for figuring out how repetition works on the iPhone cal. I'm not interested in becoming an app maintainer, but I can probably help a good programmer make something work fairly quickly.

I was recently looking at the same thing.

I grabbed the sqlite calendar db and could attach to it without any changes using sqlite3 under Linux. That part seems simple enough.

Then I grabbed the gdata-objectivec-client code from Google and messed with that a bit. It'll take some pretty serious work and a more thorough understanding of Mac development than I have to get that building properly I think. What I was going to do was just extract the network query and auth portions and roll my own toolkit using them.

fellcolor: Have you built any of this or were you going to use the HTML/XML method and parse stuff yourself?

There is already a project attempting to do this.
