Default A better iPhone Mail App?

Just curious, I did a bit of searching around and couldn't find anything:

Does anyone know of anyone who's working on a better version of Mail for the iPhone? I only realised today how much the standard one sucks, when it blew out my GPRS usage by downloading some 4mb attachments off a couple of my emails, which it doesn't even do anything with..

Or maybe some hidden setting "Don't download email attachments!" would do..

Maybe something that allows you to see the link in the e-mail in a window that you can click BACK on.

Very annoying when you're checking e-mail notifications from a forum.
You tap the link, then you need to click home, then tap the e-mail app, then you need to tap the inbox button up top.

..too many movements. lol Surprised Apple didn't make it easier.
