Default AptBackup is not working after 2.2 update

this stupid app doesnt work. I had 2.1, i used the backup button, installed a custom 2.2, and, because apt backup was in a ,,categories,, folder, i first had to reinstall bigboss source (which apparently doesnt work after the restore), then install aptbackup, then install bossprefs in order to unpoof aptbackup, i put the dpkg file in private var mobile preferences, hit restore button in aptbackup, and it gave me that error saying that this needs to be done after a backup and restore. Ok, i thought that the cathegories thing messed it, i did an other clean restore to custom 2.2, reinstalled bigboss source, in order to install aptbackup, i installed aptbackup and put the dpkg file in its place and its still not working!!!!!!! I did not sync the iphone at all with itunes the second time, in order to avoid problems. Now what??????

I would start by toning down your message. I would edit and delete the word "stupid". Then maybe someone would be willing to help you.

are u sure that itunes did a backup of the fone after you "backed up" with aptbackup? the error message seems to indicate that you did everything right on the fone but u forgot to do an itunes backup!

Default AppBackup.app crashing after updating to 2.2

I had safely backed up all my apps using AppBackup before moving on to 2.2 from 2.1. Now that I have all my apps reinstalled and all my data synced back from iTunes. I tried run AppBackup only to find it was crashing. Any way to fix this, I checked the permissions in the Applications folder and they are 755.

AptBackup worked fine on my 2.2. It's the first time that after restoring a custom firmware to upgrade my iPhone I did not have to do any manual install. All my Cydia apps were back on the phone. Really nice. In order to work, you need to
    1. run a backup from AptBackup,
    2. then you need to backup your iPhone with iTunes,
    3. then right after you restore your custom firmware, you need to restore your iPhone backup from iTunes,
    4. then you need to reinstall AptBackup from Cydia and
    5. then you need to run a restore from AptBackup.
It'll take a while to re-download all the Cydia apps, you want to have the auto-lock to never and your iPhone docked with power. At this point I am afraid it's too late for you, do it for the next upgrade. It saves you a lot of time.
