Hi, and thanks for a great app! I am saying this because it will directly benefit me, but also because it will potentially benefit everyone in the world speaking any other language than English.

I would really appreciate it, if you addressed the issue that special characters (ascii>127?) now show up as (null).

Right now, whenever anyone says anything with a character in it that colloq doesn't understand, it shows up as an empty line, making this (and mcolloquy) effectively useless for the entire non-english-speaking world (ok, I'm being a drama queen here).

I love how well your version works, but I just can't use it until all the lines show up. They don't need to be the actual characters (ежд for instance), they could be just gibberish or question marks as in a lot of clients... The only completely "unacceptable" solution is just dropping the line alltogether, because then we have NO idea what the other party said.

Thanks for all your previous and continuing efforts! Been using IRC since 1994 and it would be really neat to have a well working client for the iPhone.

    jayjay,

Extended ASCII character support is the #1 commented-upon bug ... and thus was the first on my priority list. After a long break from coding, I finally got back to it a couple of days ago and fixed the characters bug (incidentally, it was a programming error in the original mColloquy, and not a chosen solution). This fix will be included in the next release, which ideally will be within the next couple of weeks.

    Thanks!

I (and a lot of other users, I am sure) will really appreciate this. I ran into the same bug with mcolloquy, so I knew it wasn't "your fault". Since your client seems better than mcolloquy though (by far), I really would rather have it fixed in your client.

So great news! Waiting for the next version.

Seems like a great app. Just waiting for it to appear in installer, and I'll be all set.

It is in installer. Check under Network or All packages... colloQ is its name.
