Default [Advice] Consumer vs Community Apps

now i know these people are atleast trying to draw an income off their works of art but isnt the idea of a hacking community is that the fruits that are made for that community.... shouldnt it be free???

if you have to pay for the software apple never wanted on ur phone isnt that kinda messed up???
if people are going to "sell" their apps for iphone shouldnt it be done thru itunes store to be safer for them?

if people have to pay for the software then the developers cant use the "not responsible for any damages done while using this software"

the idea of free to all the community is u cant take any legal action if it craps out your phone

anyone else have or share these thoughts

    Wink

As far it being free, that depends on many things. I for one like the way things are done right now, mostly free with donations here and there and pay apps mixed in. To me the apps store is just apple trying to get a quick buck after seeing what devs can and can't do after going thru 5 firmwares. We were fine with out the apps store then and think and hope we will fine with out it later, seeing as its also so limiting to devs...

One thing I agree with, if you are paying for something, you are entitled to get proper support for it and not read the bull "no guarantee for anything".
It's supposed to be, after all a product you are buying.

Just an example of IntelliScreen, I was planning to purchase it, but when I saw they are selling it now, and won't do any promises for future, it just seems very cheeky way of someone making a quick buck.

Well, just my 2 cents. Iīve made the iBlacklist with my partner (itīs cost is U$8), and we feel responsible for whatever happens with the iPhone of our users, and thatīs why we donīt use any message excluding us from this responsibility.
Iīm giving support on daily basis through e mail, forums and even randomly with phone calls. I never let one single user without support, and we are constantly improving the software. I think is fair to be paid for this, or we from iDevBrTeam would have created another fatherless savage child running free around the world doing bad things.
Our app has reached a very good stage since a few releases back, so stability and flawless operation was always our goal, and with hard work we could achieve this. This week we will release a new update (1.9 version) so itīs another proof we do take this serious and not on it for quick buck.
Now,i have a simple question. For how long have you been waiting for some free appīs to have a new version and indeed remove itīs previous bugs?
