    Default [2.0][Toolchain] iPhone 2.0 ??

so i am jailbroken/unlocked on 2.0 using T-Mobile USA via PwnageTool 2.0 and i was searching thru Cydia to see what new apps were updated to the App....and i came across an interesting looking program call'd iPhone 2.0 Toolchain and the description says this...

Full *compatibility* toolchain with one click! Use this to compile your 1.1.x apps for 2.0 with some limitations. BigBoss' headers for 2.2.2 from working Cygwin toolchain. Also depends on all other necessary packages. Copies to /var/include and symlinks /usr/local/include to /var/include if possible. Alos links gcc to arm-apple-darwin-gcc.

now im not a Noob at this iPhone thing and most of the terminology....but WTH does this mean it sounds good and im look'n tryna figure it out.....any ideas??

    4GB iPhone [Unlocked/Jailbroken (QuickPwn)] & 8GB iPhone 3G [Jailbroken (QuickPwn)]
    Firmware: 2.2, 04.05.04_G Baseband (2G) & 02.28.00
Standard Apps, 3rd Party Apps, & AppStore Apps All working
    Carrier: T-Mobile USA (1st Gen) AT&T (3G)

<-------------- Thumbs up if this helped!!!

I may be wrong but it looks like a tool that will attempt to convert any app that was written for 1.1.x to 2.0.

There were quite a few changes to the framework.

Saurik, the writer of Cydia, has posted a detailed write-up on this:

seems like its a dev tool for helping to rewrite apps for 2.0... but I dont think its as simple as installing it and then installing everything else... I could be wrong though..

You are right. I installed it, and after you open the program opens you are linked to a webpage that gives you direction on how to re-write the app.

I`m not much of a developer, so I hope that the smart guys will work on it, so that we can download the good old 1.1.4 installer applications.
