I install this, it seems to be working, except when an sms is blocked if you get one through that is not on the blacklist you can see the blocked sms in the sms app when you go to read the one not on the blacklist. Also is there any way to still get the sms sound and vibrate for sms that are not on the blacklist?

Hi, i could not completely understand your report. Do you mean that, when you got filtered smsīs and open the MobileSMS, the filtered SMS is there?
Or do you mean when you receive a filtered SMS while you have the MobileSMS app opened the filtered message is there. If it is the second, yes, it can happen, since the MobileSMS when opens register itself for incoming/outgoing notifications of sms events, and this canīt be avoided until now. But, when you close it and reopen it, the sms is not there anymore.
Otherwise, if you receive a filtered sms, it MUST not show on default mobileSMS, unless you have the SMS Settings called Delete SMS set to OFF, then the iBlacklist wonīt delete it from default app.

The sound/vibrate for non filtered messages MUST work fine, is unacceptable that iBlacklist removes the sound/vibrate notification for non filtered messages. I have tested it a lot. The news on this version is the PrivacySMS on Extras now removes the sms popup on lock screen but not the sound notifications.

Ok I have now done some more thorough testing

I have set my other phone number up as a blacklisted contact so I could sms my iphone to test,

Here are the settings I used

    Call Settings

    To Voicemail
    Save History - on
    Delete Recent Calls - Off
    Restricted Number - off
    Address Book Only - Off
    Show Status Icon - On
    Sound Notify - Off
Auto Reply SMS - Greyed out

    SMS Settings

    Save History - On
    Delete SMS - Off
    Address Book Only - Off
    Show Status Icon - On
    Sound Notify - Off

    Extras
    Call Privacy - On
    SMS Privacy - On
    Call Forward Privacy - Off

When I send an sms to the iphone the staus icon shows, No Sound, No Pop up, No small red badge on SMS Mobile App, all of which is great,

But if I go into the Iphone Mobile SMS App I can see the filtered Blacklisted SMS without having to go into the iblacklist app.

Now with the sound notifications I was on about earlier

With SMS Privacy on and Sound Notify on The SMS sound will indicate you have an sms from a contact not in your filter list, but also this enables the sound to play for the filtered sms also. If you switch the SMS Privacy off you get the pop ups and sound for un filtered sms and with this you can switch off the Notify sound which will stop the filtered sms from sounding.

Also I cannot get the Startup password to save and work, I click save upon entering the same password twice to set it and the password stars dissapear, then upon restarting the app it does not ask for a password, it just opens the app as normal.

Also when recieving an sms blocked or unblocked and you have the sounds enabled, the iphone seems to turn the volume down of the ringtones/sms tones to half volume as a default. I have tried turning the volume back up but when another sms blocked or unblocked is recieved the volume goes back to half way again. I have not tested it with calls yet as I spent most of my time working with sms.

    So to summerise

If you want to have UnBlocked normal SMS to sound only you have got to have the blocked sms to sound also.

If you dont want the blocked sms to sound but you want to hear the unblocked sound then you have to turn privacy off and you get the pop ups when you recieve the sms.

With the settings indicated above although the iblacklist does indeed hide the sound pop up and the badge from the sms icon, when I press the sms icon on the iphone I can see the blocked sms in there.

Passwords not saving or excecuting on app start up.

Volume defaulting to half volume on receiving sms blocked or unblocked.

    Hope this helps

I have also just bought this app so I can test it more with more of my contacts in the blacklist, so when I get my unlock code Ill start testing

I really like this application and I bought it in June 08 ($8) to use on my old iPhone V1 in 1.1.4 jailbreaked firmware.
Like Videorecorder, it's one of those usefull applications which should not exist because Apple should have included such functions in standard in his phone.
However it's really usefull and I like it, so I bought them both.

Last Week I bought the new iPhone 3G, as many of you guys, and use it jailbreaked under 2.0.2 firmware. I was really happy yesterday learning about iBlacklist V2 under Cydia for my new iPhone 3G.

Unfortunately I won't use this soft anymore because of what I think is a really stupid commercial politic.

I mailed yesterday the author to get my new serial number to register the new installed 2.0 version on my new iPhone 3G, joining the proof of my previous buy, and the answer I get is : "because you changed your iPhone you have to buy the product again"

I can't believe it ! I bought it only 3 monthes ago and it should be a free upgrade, like Videorecorder did providing me a free upgrade serial this week.
Can you imagine you change your PC and Microsoft say "sorry guy, you have to buy Office again".

Well anyway, I installed PYSL and it does the same job, you can keep your update

    @ judgejase

The Extras -> PrivacySMS is for unfiltered messages. It will just remove the popup on lock screen, but will keep the sound notification of non filtered messages only.

The SMS Settings is all about filtered messages. It does not apply to unfiltered ones. So, to filter a message and remove it from default MobileSMS app, go to SMS Settings and switch Delete SMS to ON, it will remove the filtered messages from default apple app.
Also, the sound notify present on SMS Settings, is just for filtered messages, so it will play a sound when you got a filtered message.

So, to remove popups of non filtered messages, have sound for non filtered messages, delete the filtered messages from default app and have a different sound for filtered messages the setup is:

    Non filtered setup:
    Extras -> PrivacySMS - ON

    Filtered Setup:
SMS Settings -> Delete SMS - ON
SMS Settings -> Sound Notify - ON

    Please check www.iblacklist.com.br/tutorial.asp

Is a little bit out of date regarding the vibrate and auto sms reply, but it will be updated soon.

    @kasimodem

I respect your point of view and wonīt discuss this, but do you really think you will buy a single Office license from Microsoft and will be abled to fully install it on ANY number of computers you want? I donīt think so. If it were like this, people would buy a licensed copy of Office, clone the installation CD in a million copies and sell them as full registered software.
Or even do you think just because you bought the Office license for your windows XP OS and after upgrading the OS to Vista, you are entitled for a free Office license on your Vista OS?

Also, let me say how Freescale (Motorolaīs semi conductor segment) register their compilers (Code Warrior)
    You may have a license attached to your HD serial number, so it will work only for the same machine (wich is the exact registration scheme we use). Itīs a single machine use;
You may pay more and have a license for network operation, so multiple machines can run it, but you need them to be present on your network to communicate with your server, so it will work only on your network.
You may pay even more and buy a hardware dongle, so you can use the software, once at a time, on different machines.
This is how we operate. You are free to disagree and i respect that.

Thanks for taking time to answer.

I can understand but when I read this :

I really ask me why I have to pay twice the same thing !

Some solutions you could try :
    - A special upgrade price for iPhone V1 owners to iPhone 3G
    - A way of controling if I use the two versions at the same time (which in my case is not because my iPhone V1 is sold on eBay)
    - A way of unregistering 1.9 version before registering 2.0 version (like iTunes let me unregister my old PC to read my downloaded DRM music before I change it and register the new one to access my music library again)
    ...

    Hi judgejase

Yes, this problem has been backtracked right now!!!
If you want me to send you by e mail the library that fixes it, please contact me on alexandre@iblacklist.com.br

But we will be releasing an update that fixes this behavior today, so it will be available on Cydia soon. Also, it will fix the confusing password setup logic fail we did
