Default [2.0][applications][app store vs. "hacked"] just a question/observation...

    Hi guys,
    is it just me???
1st gen. iPhone 4GB, pwned to 2.0 - ALL hacked apps (games and others) work great, without a glitch, but most of the "legal" ones do NOT?! What is the problem here? Does anyone have similiar experience, and what could the solution be?

    Cheers

Most of the unofficial apps have been around for a long time so the code is mature. The official apps (the ones that weren't ported from unofficial apps) have only had a few months to be developed from the dev kit.

    Give it some time.

The thing is, I was talking about official apps, only obtained let's say... hmmm, in a not so official way ;-)
Or let's put it this way: - official apps purchased from the app store (hit or miss in terms of them working); - official apps "hacked" (or if you prefer, stolen) work great. Shouldn't it be the other way around?! ;-)

Or "official apps purchased from app store" means "free official apps", and the stolen ones were the paid ones (from professional developers)? Just a hypothesis.

Installing Cydia programs on a phone that has no internet connection: read this.

Editing binary .plist, .strings, .nib and .xib files:
    * on your computer: Windows tool / conversion website.
    * on your iPhone: convert those files in a terminal with plutil (installed with Erica Utilities) or edit them with iFile (Cydia links).

What are the problems you experience, anyway?
Don't they start at all or just not working properly?

Hi Kerry, good to "see" you... ;-)

Apps that I've gotten from the appstore:

    1. Quitter (won't save the data ) - nothing helps

    2. Car care (Crashes constantly) - ocassionally reinstall helps (for a short while, but data gets wiped which defeats the purpose)

3.Weight Tracker (won't save the data ) - again, reinstall helps but defeats the purpose

    I've emailed developers. Nothing helps.
    ---------------------------

On the other hand, hacked apps ALL work!

    Cheers :-)

P.S. iBaReS still works without a glitch ;-)))

Well, sounds like it's really only quick/dirty programming with a few flaws still on. So I agree to the above.... the 3rd party apps had more time to develop so far.

I had no problems with my Appstore apps so far... Writepad for example is really *genious*

On the other hand: why would YOU need a weight tracker? *lol*
