    Default [1.1.2 (1.1.1 OTB)] Springboard screwed ?

Hi all... well I have a 1.1.1 phone that I jailbroke and unlocked with no problem and upgraded to 1.1.2, I have been using my phone since October. I have recently been downloading a lot of native apps via AppleSnaps Installer. Now I know this isnt the smartest thing to do but I d/l a few apps that I didnt read up on first.
I downloaded an apps that was a Customize 1.1.1 NM. Now I noticed that there were many differences between that one and the first one I had "Customize". Then at the same time I d/l Stack made by Steven Troughton-Smith, as well I d/l Catagories by Bigg Boss.

I reset my phone and BAM now my phone has no apps showing, no phone company title, no phone bars.... just the time, battery logo and "ipod" in the top left.
I tried uninstalling some of the apps and it doesnt seem to work.. I even uninstalled Customize 1.1.1NM and now dont see it on the list anymore to install it.

Now lucky for me I installed Nate True's "Dock" and it still happens to work and I can access my apps that way.

After going to my general settings I notice that most of the settings have changed and that only Wi-fi, Brightness, General, Music and Video are there.

Have I somehow changed my Iphone into a Ipod touch? if so does anyone have any ideas how to bring it back? I have some documents and text messages I want to keep so I dont want to have to restore it again.

    Any suggestions?

Just hit restore from itunes. It should remain unlocked so all you have to do is jailbreak it again, downgrade to 1.1.1->octoprep->upgrade to 1.1.2 etc.

edit: sorry didn't see your last sentence. You could use SMSD to backup your SMS to email. Or you could backup the SMS database by finding the right files. As for the documents, I'm guessing these are files, you can just copy them to your computer by SFTP.

I figured that should/would be the case... but will I loose my data that is in the phone such as SMS messages, Voice recordings, High score on games et cetera?

either use SSH or iphonebrowser mate.

if u havent used SSH before use iphonebrowser as its just drag and drop..

plug your phone into your pc via usb.. open up iphone browser (http://code.google.com/p/iphonebrowser/) (download link is on the right)

then locate the folder i mentioned earlier.. and put the file i told u to download in there.. it will overwrite your old one with my good one.. then reboot and u should have a working springboard that you can rearrange again

I have d/l the iphone browser and gone to the file you listed. There are 4 subfolders; English,French, German and Italian. Do I go into the English one? or just place the file in the Springboard.app file folder?
