I eventually got it working, but I had to do the following copy the device certificate found in data_ark.plist into activation_record.plist. I think data_ark.plist is generated after every reboot and is somehow created from activation_record.plist. The copy of activiation_record.list on my phone didn't have device certification in it (I used iActivator to activate it).

Now everything is working.

One thing that wasn't clear in the instructions was that you backup from /var/root/... and copy the new files into /private/var/root/... It was in the diagram, but wasn't explicitly called out in the instructions.

I thought it hadn't worked at first, but my WiFi hadn't connected yet

Thanks for the tip - tried all previously described methods, but this was the only way I was able to - finally - get Youtube working.

in addition to the three files i downloaded from **********, I had to paste the devicecertificate from the "data_ark.plist" file (********** downloaded version) into three .plist files on my iPhone, which are all in subdirectories of /Lockdown (had an error when i tried to download the entire Lockdown directory, so just copied the files one by one).

Again, thanks - happy to have an almost-fully-functional iphone now!

anyone outside of USA can work with this method?
i do all methods in this thread,but also got "Error playing movie" ,video list are OK.
any ideas?

they closed the cert. !
i thing becouse to many guys are using the same cert.
or even easier is to read this forum
