also, i think i have found a very big bug - maybe im not doing something right but every new contact i have added, will not let me send a message to unless i put in the number directly. i have turned off and turned on the device and tried on the last 10 new contacts

it keeps saying "please check recipent's name"

if this really is a bug and im not doing something wrong, then this by far needs to be fixed immediately and i dont see how im doing anything wrong, even with restarting the phone

Sorry for have to put it externally, i found problem on uploading attachments from my mac to this forum. so don't "save as" the screenshot, click it first then save the original transparent .png file.

really like that! but dont know how to add files manually on the iphone wihtout installer, im looking all over the internet but all i can find is either 1.0.1 version or 1.1.1 with mac and not windows

You can use Transmit or fugu if you're on mac, or winscp if you are on windows, go to /Applications/iSMS.app/ and there you go, you can put the hotfix there or put a new icon there (icon.png). If you put the hotfix, make sure you set the file permission to 755.

wow, i have been on the internet searching for this for quite a while - and i missed the simplest things when i thougt this was going to be hard - i didn't know how to get the IP of the iphone, and the user name and password used

....once i easily found those when i realized i needed them - connecting and doing everything is as easy as cake (and its quite easy to set to 755 too)

if anyone needs help with it, let me know cuz it takes 5 lines of explainging or less

Anyone tested the Smiley yet? I tried few times forwarding sms with Smiley to another iPhone user, but no Smiley appeared upon receiving my sms! Just the usual text sign

the usual text sign as like " ; ) " right? if yes then the program is actually correct! and whether it is displayed as smiley or as text sign is depends on the recipient's phone's capability. some phone can interpret the sign as smiley some don't.

I understand the phone's capability of displaying smiley.

For my case, I could see the actual smiley in my SENT folder after forwarding it.

The strange thing is that I actually forwarded that smiley to my cousin who is also using an iPhone 1.1.2 too, and she could only receive the text sign, not the smiley I had forwarded to her. Strange indeed!

So, as an iPhone user , does she need to install iSMS too to be able to display the Smiley correctly?

Yes, she need to view using isms.

Ohh! I see! I had overlooked that iPhone, by default, its MobileSMS.app is not capable of displaying Smiley!
