Still not working for me

ok, after you explained how it works, something came to my mind:
i had a folder on my exchange server that containts unread messages and i downloaded most folder contents to my iphone yesterday. so there was a folder with unread (better "marked as unread") messages in it (though the sms.app-icon only notifies you about unread mails in the inbox).
after "reading" them it works.
but could you change the app that i only scans the inbox/parent-folder?

FIXED!

It now only checks your inbox and has an extra check just to make sure that even if your mail server is doing weird things with flags it should still work :-)

It would be nice to have a different icon for unread SMS and for unread Mails

Im not sure if this suggestion will apply for others, but here it goes:

Also it would be cool to set X days as cut off date for emails, for example, if I have new mails sitting in my inbox for 5 days dont show the notification icon.

why I ask this? because I almost dont use emails, but I use a lot the SMS. After upgrading to version 0.7 (from 0.4) I will have the envelope constant on due to some unread and old msgs. Yeah, Im lazy erasing 50 mails one by one is stupid, so I leave them there...

There are different icons for SMS and Mail already. Envelope for mail, speech bubble for SMS.

It will be open source yes, but I haven't released the source yet. I will be cleaning the it up and making it much more efficient before I release it.

The last version displayed the envelope continuously, whether or not I had unread emails.
The new version from this morning does not show the envelope at all, whether or not I have new emails on either my Yahoo or .mac accounts.

the text message bubble works fine.

I had this problem... simple fix... uninstall, reboot, reinstall, reboot... hey presto!

BTW jaysea, this is one of the best added features... well done!!!
